One of the architectural symbols of the capital of Azerbaijan, the Heydar Aliyev Center, was painted in the colors of the Turkish flag on the evening of February 7 as a sign of solidarity with Turkey and the Turkish people after the devastating earthquakes. This is reported by the Anadolu agency.
The Turkish flag will be projected on the building for several days at 22:00 local time.
According to the latest data, the number of victims of devastating earthquakes in the south-east of Turkey reached 5,9 thousand, 34,810 residents of the country were injured.
President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced a seven-day nationwide mourning in Turkey for the victims of the disaster. The national flags of Turkey are lowered at half-mast throughout the country, as well as in diplomatic offices abroad.
