Gazprom and SOCAR consider possible areas for developing cooperation


Chairman of the Board of Gazprom PJSC Alexey Miller and President of the State Oil Company of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) Rovshan Najaf held a working meeting on Tuesday.
The parties discussed the course of interaction between the companies, as well as possible areas for the development of cooperation, according to the website of the Russian Energy Corporation.
SOCAR is the state oil and gas company of Azerbaijan. The company's activities include exploration, production, processing, transportation and sale of oil, natural gas and gas condensate.

Since 2018, the Representative Office of Gazprom PJSC has been operating in Azerbaijan.
On November 15, 2022, Russian gas supplies to Azerbaijan began under a new gas purchase and sale agreement. The document was signed between Gazprom Export and SOCAR. The contract provides for the supply of up to 1 billion cubic meters of gas by March 2023.
In January 2023, Gazprom signed a Cooperation Roadmap with Uzbekistan and a similar document with Kazakhstan.
