Uzbekistan has simplified the requirements for temporary registration of foreign citizens and stateless persons at the place of temporary residence on the territory of the republic, Yangi Uzbekiston reports.

The corresponding resolution was adopted by the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan on January 30, 2023 and entered into force on January 31. According to the document, foreign citizens must apply to the migration offices for temporary registration within 3 days after arrival.

The resolution also cancels the need to obtain permission from the internal affairs bodies for temporary registration of foreigners and stateless persons who have previously violated the rules of stay in the country or committed other offenses.

In turn, the administrations of accommodation facilities and medical institutions, as well as owners of private housing, can accommodate foreigners with notification to the internal affairs bodies about violations using the "E-mehmon" program.

More information about the document can be found in the National Database of Legislation of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
