Turkmenistan approves procedure for issuing electronic train tickets
Turkmenistan has approved the procedure for issuing electronic tickets for passenger trains, according to which travelers can purchase virtual tickets on the Internet or at ticket sales terminals, as well as at passenger service stations, the official website of JSC "Turkmendemirellary"reports.
An online purchase can be made on the website, or using the Turkmenistan Railways smartphone app based on Android and iOS. The program allows you to buy a round-trip ticket at a convenient time for the passenger.
After performing all the relevant operations, a copy of the e-ticket in the form of a QR code will be sent to the user's email address. The buyer will also receive an SMS notification on the phone. An electronic ticket can be presented either on the smartphone screen or in printed form.
If the printed ticket is not available, the passenger can get a copy of it at the ticket office of the railway station by presenting an identity document. You can also return and restore unused e-tickets at the ticket offices of the railway station.
