Beyonce became the record holder for the number of Grammy Awards

American singer Beyonce received her 32nd Grammy and became the owner of the largest number of these awards in history, BBC News reports.

Beyonce beat the former record holder, the late British-Hungarian conductor Georg Scholti, who had 31 Grammy Awards in his collection. He remained the record holder for 20 years.

The singer was awarded for the album Renaissance in the nomination "Best dance / electronic music album" and for the composition CUFF IT in the nomination "Best song in the style of R&B".

"I'm trying not to be too emotional," Beyonce said while accepting the award at the 65th Grammy Awards Ceremony in Los Angeles.
