TURKSOY announced a competition among young artists
The International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY) has announced a competition for young artists in honor of the 30th anniversary of its formation.
The contest is aimed at stimulating the creative abilities of children and youth, attracting their attention to traditional and modern fine arts, identifying talented young artists and establishing communication between them, protecting and developing national artistic cultures in Turkic countries.
Young artists aged 12-18 from TURKSOY member countries, as well as students of art departments of professional colleges, schools and other educational institutions are invited to participate in the competition.
A participant can submit only one work to the competition, but in any technique and any format. It can be graphics, painting, watercolor, batik, stained glass, hot enamel, engraving, gouache, decorative painting, decoupage, inlay, collage, lithography, mosaic and anything that pleases the soul of a young author who wants to share his vision with peers from other countries and with the whole world.
The main thing is that the work should be unique, original in style and content, there should be no "redrawing" of other people's drawings and photographs. They also cannot be previously awarded awards from other competitions, be published in the media or publicly available in catalogs until April 2023, that is, until the end of the contest "The Turkic World through the eyes of young artists".
The works should not carry negative messages, they should convey to the viewer bright, kind and positive emotions, faith and love for their country. They may reflect the philosophical reflections of the artist – in an accompanying note, he may write several sentences describing his idea, or even attach his poems on the topic of his inspiration.
Applications can be submitted until March 15. The results of the first stage will be announced on March 30, and the results of the competition will be announced on April 5.
