In his official Twitter account, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan wished a speedy recovery to the citizens affected by the earthquake that occurred this morning in the south-east of the country.

He also added that all relevant authorities are on full alert, and search and rescue teams are immediately sent to the regions affected by the earthquake.

"Our Ministries of Internal Affairs and Health, the Department for the Prevention and Elimination of Consequences of Emergency Situations, governorships and all other institutions quickly began their work. We hope that together we will overcome this catastrophe as soon as possible and with the least damage," Erdogan said, stressing that today is a time for unity and unity for each of the 85 million inhabitants of Turkey.

The number of earthquake victims in Turkey exceeded 900 people, in Syria — 400. Offers of assistance to Ankara have already been received from 45 countries of the world, as well as the EU and NATO.
