At a meeting on the development of Astana, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev instructed to develop a new general plan of the city, Tengrinews reports.

According to the plan, the capital should become an innovative city of the future by adopting a new development model.

"New digital approaches to city management are being intensively introduced in the world, which we should pay attention to," Tokayev said, noting the need to modernize the city on the principle of a creative, comfortable and clean city.

In this regard, the President instructed the Akimat, together with the Ministry of Digital Development, to immediately start working, involving representatives of the IT business and specialists in this field.

He also added that the Arab company G42 is ready to share its achievements within the framework of the Smart City project.
