Turning to the agenda of the meeting, the Turkmen leader first spoke to the Chairwoman of the Mejlis, G. Mammedova. Mammedova gave information about the work done by the Mejlis in January of this year and preparations for the elections of the deputies of the Mejlis. Taking into account the current conditions of the country's development and the priorities of the state's social policy, the Esteemed President emphasized the importance of continuing work on improving the national legal framework. Then, Cabinet Deputy Chairman Yazmyradov, who is on a working trip to Lebap Velayat, reported on the results of work carried out in January of this year in the sectors under his control. It was noted that the effective operation of agricultural machinery, their provision with necessary spare parts and other resources contributes to the high-quality implementation of agrotechnical activities related to crop care. In this regard, a draft resolution was presented for consideration by the Turkmen leader. Listening to the report, the Esteemed President emphasized the need to start preparations for reconstruction and shore strengthening of the Garagum River, to prepare a project of works to be done in this area, and to find a contractor who will carry it out. In the same way, the Turkmen leader said that it is important to analyze the condition of reservoirs, inspect rivers and streams, and, if necessary, carry out cleaning and deepening works in them. The Esteemed President emphasized the need to take necessary measures to increase the production of agricultural products and modernize the water supply system of the country. The Esteemed President also ordered the implementation of a large investment project for the construction of Caspian Sea water desalination facilities, the purchase of modern vacuum cleaners and special equipment. The Turkmen leader signed the relevant decision and gave several instructions to the vice-premier. Then, Cabinet Deputy Chairwoman Mammedova reported on the results of work carried out in January 2023 in the sectors under her control, as well as on the draft Resolution on giving the title of "People" to collectives of artistic enthusiasts. Summarizing the report, the Esteemed President emphasized the importance of further improving the work of cultural institutions in accordance with the requirements of the times. The Turkmen leader said that it is necessary to continuously improve the quality of television and radio communications, as well as preserve historical and cultural monuments, and gave specific instructions in this regard. Emphasizing the importance of giving the name "People" in raising the level of enthusiastic groups and their further creative development, the Esteemed President signed the relevant Resolution and gave relevant instructions to the Vice-Premier in this regard. Then the President of Turkmenistan addressed the participants of the session and said that according to the preliminary results of January, the rate of growth of the GDP equaled 6.2 percent, and stable development was achieved in the sectors of the national economy. As the Turkmen leader noted, it is important to carry out the necessary work on increasing the production volume in the industrial sector, efficient use of resources, expanding the scope of trade and services. By increasing the amount of exported goods, it is important to ensure a positive level of foreign trade turnover. It is necessary to continue the work on implementing the revenues and expenses of the state budget in the planned amounts. Last month, the amount of capital investments made across the country at the expense of all sources of financing was more than 2 billion manats. This is 9.1 percent more than the same period last year, the President of Turkmenistan said. Since the beginning of the year, the high volume of capitalization has created the conditions for launching new industrial facilities and increasing production capacity. The Turkmen leader emphasized that this will allow to further improve the living conditions of the population and create additional jobs in the regions. Although some progress is being made by industry leaders, there is still much work to be done, actions to be taken, and challenges ahead across sectors and regions. In this regard, the President of Turkmenistan pointed out that an enlarged session of the Cabinet of Ministers will be held next week with the participation of the heads of ministries, departmental administrations, heads of public organizations and governors. The results of the work carried out in 2022 will be summarized in the session, the implementation of the adopted programs and instructions will be analyzed, as well as a number of other issues related to state administration will be discussed. At the session of the Cabinet of Ministers held by means of digital video conferencing, several other important issues were considered and relevant decisions were made. During the meeting, the Turkmen leader noted that the results of the activities carried out in January of this year and many other issues were considered, and several documents aimed at the development of the sectors were adopted.
