Turkmenistan delegation at a meeting of the International Tennis Federation
President of the Tennis Federation of Turkmenistan Azat Myradov and Federation Secretary General Eziz Dovletov attended the annual general meeting of the International Tennis Federation (ITF) 2019 in Lisbon, Portugal.
The major forum brought tohether a record number of representatives of national tennis associations of 155 countries to determine the future of both the International Tennis Federation and this sport as a whole.
As part of the meeting, the ITF President election for 2019-2023 was held, in which current Federation Head David Haggerty won with 60.4% of the votes. Ivo Kaderka (Czech Republic), Anil Hannah (India) and David Miley (Ireland) also ran for this post.
Delegates elected 14 members of the Board in accordance with geographic criteria to ensure proper representation of all regions.
The key issues discussed at the forum also included the protection of this sport’s future in the age of transformation, global development of tennis and updating the International Tennis Federation strategy.
