The Russian Chess Federation will become part of the Asian Chess Federation

The Russian Chess Federation (RCF) intends to change its continental affiliation, acting as part of the Asian Chess Federation.
The offer to Russians to participate in Asian competitions came from the Olympic Council of Asia.
Back in April last year, the Russian Chess Federation sent a letter to the European Chess Union, notifying of its intention to change the continental body.
The head of the Russian Chess Federation Andrey Filatov commented that the final decision will be made at a meeting of the General Assembly of the organization.
"If there are no objections, we will assume that the RCF has received the green light to move to Asia," the European Chess Union said in a statement.
The final transition is expected to take place by the end of February.
