TASS: 5.4 million biometric passports were issued in Russia in 2022

Last year, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia issued over 5.4 million biometric passports, TASS reports, referring to the Ministry's indicators on the migration situation for January-December 2022.

This is 1.5 million more compared to the same period in 2021 — then almost 3.9 million biometric passports were issued.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, in December 2021, more than 560 thousand people received biometric passports — more than in any other month last year.
