Russia and Turkey are discussing sensitive security issues of the gas hub at the expert level. This is reported by TASS with reference to the Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Oleg Syromolotov.

"The result of joint efforts was the initiative of [Russian President] Vladimir Putin to create a gas hub in Turkey. Currently, various aspects of the implementation of this idea, including sensitive ones, are being discussed at the expert level. We are pleased to perceive the enthusiasm of the Turkish partners, their constructive approach and commitment to close joint work," the publication quotes him as saying.

Syromolotov also expressed confidence that through joint efforts Moscow and Ankara will be able to "successfully resolve all emerging issues, including ensuring the safety of existing and future energy facilities."

The Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation called energy one of the most successful areas of Russian-Turkish cooperation. "Ankara's attitude to further qualitative deepening of ties in this direction is due to the positive experience of bilateral cooperation in the construction of the Blue Stream and Turkish Stream gas pipelines, the reliability of Russia as a supplier of blue fuel," he said.

We are talking about the construction of another gas pipeline from Russia and the creation of a hub in Turkey through which gas will begin to flow to third countries, primarily European ones.
