Medical experts of Turkmenistan and Germany discuss expansion of partnership


The traditional Turkmen-German forum on healthcare is being held online these days with the participation of specialists in the field of medicine of the two countries, the official Turkmen press writes today.
The agenda of the meeting includes a wide range of issues in such areas of medicine as oncology, surgery, orthopedics, obstetrics, steroid therapy. Participants will also discuss the rational use of antibiotics, increasing resistance to them, and the release of medicines.
In his address, the Minister of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan Atageldy Germanov noted the unity of the vision of Turkmen and German medical specialists of the prospects for the development of healthcare.
Turkmen doctors together with specialists from Germany conduct consultations, diagnostics and surgical treatment of patients in the field of cardiology, ophthalmology, endocrinology. In particularly difficult cases, remote consultations and teleconferences are held.
Klaus Parhofer, professor at the Grosshadern University Hospital in Munich, said that 41 new medical institutions have been built in the capital and regions of Turkmenistan over the years of the forum. He also added that in this context, other countries of the world have a lot to learn from Turkmenistan in creating a modern medical infrastructure.
