The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan has condemned the armed attack on the Azerbaijani Embassy in Iran, which was committed on Friday morning.

"Turkmenistan declares the inadmissibility of attacks on diplomatic missions and the use of any violence against the staff of diplomatic agencies," the publication on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs says.

In a statement, the Foreign Ministry expresses its condolences to the relatives and friends of the deceased, and also wishes a speedy recovery to the injured employees of the Azerbaijani Embassy in Iran.

According to world media, the head of the embassy's security service was killed during the incident, and two guards of the diplomatic mission were injured. Local police arrested a suspect in the attack.
