Competitions of servicemen on the occasion of the Fatherland Defenders Day were held in Turkmenistan
The servicemen of the Ministry of Defense of Turkmenistan were the leaders in the team competition in sports competitions that were held throughout the country on the occasion of Fatherland Defenders Day.
The second place was taken by athletes of the border guard service, and the third place was taken by servicemen of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, MIR 24 reports.
Among the disciplines in which the servicemen competed were mini–football, volleyball, basketball, Greco-Roman wrestling, judo, as well as races at various distances, knife throwing, tug of war and pull-ups on horizontal bars.
Special purpose units of the State Border Service of Turkmenistan also demonstrated their skills at performances that were organized in the mountainous area.
Fatherland Defenders Day in Turkmenistan is celebrated annually on January 27 and is a professional holiday for military personnel and employees of all military and law enforcement agencies of the country.
