The date of weightlifting competitions at the Asian Games in Hangzhou has been postponed
The dates of the weightlifting competitions at the Asian Summer Games in Hangzhou have been changed. Now weightlifters will compete from September 30 to October 7, 2023.
The decision was made to increase the gap between the weightlifting competitions of the Asian Games and the World Championships of the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF).
The World Championship, which is a qualifier for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, is scheduled to be held from September 2 to 17, 2023 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The Asian Weightlifting Federation (AWF) called the decision to revise the dates of the competition "a demonstration of unity."
The 2022 Asian Games in Hangzhou will be held from September 23 to October 8, 2023. Turkmen athletes, including weightlifters, are intensively preparing for this significant tournament.
