Turkmenistan is studying best practices in the preparation of financial accounts


Representatives of the State Statistics Committee of Turkmenistan and the Central Bank of Turkmenistan took part in a seminar on financial account, which was held in Brussels, Belgium.
The event was aimed at sharing experience in the compilation of financial accounts and assisting in the implementation of the System of National Accounts 2008 (SNA-2008).
The participants received up-to-date information on the use of financial accounts, familiarized themselves with financial instruments and the organization of the data compilation (collection) process.
Currently, within the framework of a joint project of the State Committee of Turkmenistan on Statistics and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) In Turkmenistan, work has begun on drawing up a financial account to support the implementation of the 2008 SNA. In this regard, this seminar allowed to get acquainted with the best foreign experience in this field.
As a statistical base that includes a set of macroeconomic accounts, the SNA has a number of advantages. Namely, integrity, transparency and accuracy, as well as efficiency.
The seminar was organized by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) and the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) in cooperation with the European Statistical Office, the European Central Bank (ECB) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
In addition to representatives from Turkmenistan, the event was also attended by delegates from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Indonesia, Iceland, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, the Netherlands, Northern Macedonia, Tajikistan, Turkey, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Montenegro.
