Turkmen poet Akmurad Rejepov became the winner of the international creative competition for the best translation into the national language of an excerpt from the poem "Love and Freedom" by the famous Hungarian poet Sandor Petefi. Among the winners are also poets from Azerbaijan - Ramil Ehmed and Barysh Javid Mavusumuly, Kazakhstan - Dauren Berikkazuli, Kyrgyzstan - Toluk Bek Baizak, Uzbekistan - Rustam Musurmon and Turkey - Dursun Ayan.

Akmurad Rejepov – more than once became the winner of the national creative competition "Altyn Asyr". His works have been published in Uzbek, Iranian and other publications, and in 2014 his author's collection of poems was published.

Now he works in the Ministry of Culture, but he has been engaged in translations for a long time and in his "piggy bank" poems of Azerbaijani, Kazakh, Uzbek, Karakalpak and other poets.

The award ceremony will take place on March 15 in Budapest as part of the celebration of the 200th anniversary of Sandor Petefi. Everyone will receive a prize of 2 thousand dollars, and the translations of the winning poets will be published in a separate book.

The story of the famous Hungarian poet Sandor Petefi was heard by everyone who was at least a little interested in the literature and culture of Hungary. His real name is Alexander Petrovich, he is a national Hungarian hero and idol, lived and worked in the XIX century. In fact, the local Pushkin. He introduced folklore into literature and was a Democrat and one of the leaders of the Hungarian Revolution of 1848-1849.
