Turkmenenergo State Electric Power Corporation will makeadditional agreements to the existing contracts to increase the export of electricity to neighboring countries.

This was announced at the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on Friday by Deputy Prime Minister Charymyrat Purchekov, who oversees energy issues in the government, TDH writes.

As ORIENT reported earlier, Kyrgyzstan plans to increase import of electricity from Turkmenistan.

Problems with power outages due to lack of natural gas areexperienced by neighboring Uzbekistan, whereTurkmenenergo could also increase supplies.

At the beginning of 2022, there was a blackout in Central Asia — massive power outage in Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. Then Turkmenistan was one of the first to have helpedneighbours restore electricity supply in the region.
