Turkmen swimmers compete for medals at the Asian Championships in India
Turkmen swimmers will participate at the 10th AASF (Asia Swimming Federation) that to be held from September 24, 2019, to October 2, 2019, in Bangalore, India. Turkmenistan will be represented by seven swimmers.
Among them, there is the silver medalist of the IV Islamic Solidarity Games in 2017, one of the Top-8 swimmers in Asia, Ataev Merdan. He will compete at a 50 and 100 meter distance at backstroke discipline.
The Turkmen team also includes Berdyguly Saparov – 50, 100 meters, breaststroke, Agajan Djorayev – 50, 100 meters, freestyle, Musa Djalayev – 50, 100 meters, freestyle, and 50, 100 meters, backstroke; Valentin Gorshkov – 50, 100 meters, butterfly stroke as well as Anastasiya Morginshtern – 50, 100 meters, freestyle and 50 meters butterfly stroke, Daria Semenova – 50, 100 meters, breaststroke.
Swimming Federation of India (SFI) will organize the sport event. The event recognized by FINA (International Swimming Federation) as an Olympic Qualifier, so the top swimmers will take advantage as they aim for A Qualification Mark for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
The event will have over 40 countries competing for top honors in four different aquatic disciplines such as swimming, diving, water polo, and the synchronized artistic swimming.
