Turkmenistan to approve certification procedure for environmental auditors
In 2023, the Law of Turkmenistan "On Environmental Audit" will be supplemented with a new by-law that will define the requirements and a step-by-step procedure for assessing and certifying environmental auditors in Turkmenistan.
Amendments to the legislation were discussed during a round table held by the US Agency for International Development in partnership with Tebigy Kuwwat, according to a press release from the US Embassy in Turkmenistan.
It is expected that in the future, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan, together with USAID, will review the draft by-law and will support its compliance.
The activities of environmental auditors in Turkmenistan should contribute to compliance with environmental protection requirements by local enterprises in accordance with current legislation.
