The transit of Russian goods through Turkmenistan showed a fourfold increase over the year - Meredov


The volume of transit of Russian cargo through Turkmenistan in 2022 showed an almost fourfold increase compared to the previous year, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov said, speaking at the plenary session of the Turkmen-Russian Business Forum on Thursday.
The Foreign Minister said: "We see a serious prospect of partnership in transport and logistics. Cooperation in the field of railway transport and shipbuilding takes on a special priority here. First of all, we are talking about the functioning of the eastern route of the international transport and transit corridor "North-South". We are working on this topic with Russian partners, in particular with the management of the Russian Railways company."
Rashid Meredov also called for more active use of the possibilities of transport cooperation in the Caspian Sea - between the Turkmen port of Turkmenbashi and the Russian Astrakhan and Makhachkala.
