Tokayev dissolved the Parliament of Kazakhstan


President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev signed a decree on the dissolution of the lower house (Mazhilis) of the country's parliament and deputies of all regional maslikhats. This is reported by the press service of the head of state.
Tokayev explained his decision by the need for constitutional reform, supported by citizens at a national referendum.
The President thanked the parliamentarians for their active and fruitful work and expressed hope that the updated composition of deputies will give a new impetus to the comprehensive modernization of the country.
Early elections of deputies of the Mazhilis are scheduled for March 19, 2023. Elections of deputies of maslikhats of all levels will be appointed by the Central Election Commission.
