French nun Lucille Randon, the oldest person in the world, has died at the age of 118. This is reported by the media with reference to France-Presse.

Lucille Randon lived in the Saint-Catherine-Labourg nursing home in Toulon. The representative of this institution, David Tavella, told reporters that the woman died in her sleep, and also noted that it was a release for Randon, because she wanted to see her brother again, whom she lost during the First World War.

The French nun was born on February 11, 1904. In her youth, she was a governess, worked in a hospital, and then became a nun and took the name Sister Andre. On her birthday in 2019, she received a personal letter from Pope Francis and a consecrated rosary.

Shortly before her 117th birthday, the nun defeated the coronavirus.
