The delegation of the State Duma of Russia will visit Turkmenistan by the end of January, RIA Novosti reports with reference to the words of the Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin.
The head of the lower house of the Russian parliament spoke about the planned visits to foreign countries at the spring session of the State Duma that opened on Tuesday.
"We have plans: official visits of representatives of the State Duma to Iran and Turkmenistan by the end of January," Volodin said, stressing that the intensification of relations with foreign partners implements the tasks set by the President of the Russian Federation.
Today phone conversation between the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the head of Russia Vladimir Putin also took place, during which issues of practical cooperation in the field of energy were discussed.
