Virtual vacation – what is it? and how to spend it
Following the work on the "remote", the concept of remote vacation also appeared. Or virtual, as futurologists call it and make curious predictions - what place this type of recreation will take in society in the new year.
Virtual reality helmets and other modern gadgets already allow you to "travel" through fantastic worlds without getting up from your chair. Furthermore, very soon, according to Chris Lindinger, a scientist from the Austrian innovation center "Ars Electronica Futurelab", such devices will become so perfect that they will be able to accurately reproduce not only the picture and sound, but also smells, as well as tactile sensations.
Pilot projects of such devices already exist – they are able to completely "immerse" the user in any preferred place of rest – for example, the Indian jungle or a ski resort.
According to the forecasts of futurists, such gadgets will soon be able to "send" fans of an extreme type of vacation, say, on an expedition to Mount Everest, and adventure fans to ancient Atlantis, at a time when it was not yet swallowed up by the ocean or on a virtual tour in the Jurassic period.
Sitting at home, it will be possible to travel through epochs and galaxies. A real vacation with its tedious travel will lose popularity and a virtual trip to anywhere in the world will take its place, futurologists believe.
