In Serhetabad at night the temperature dropped below -27°. This winter has become the second coldest in this city in the history of weather observations, surpassing the winters of 1969 and 2008. It was colder here only in 1905 — -33.8° frost.

In Ashgabat, the minimum temperature on Friday was -16.4°. This is also a record minimum temperature for the city.

Also in the zone of atypically severe frosts is a large part of the Mary region, part of the southern and central districts of the Lebap region and the southeast of Ahal.
