ECO Council of Foreign Ministers to be held in Tashkent on January 23-24


A meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs) will be held on January 23-24 in Tashkent.
The event, held within the framework of the chairmanship of Uzbekistan in the ECO, will be attended by delegations of the member countries of the Organization headed by the ministers of foreign affairs, as well as ECO Secretary General Khusrav Noziri.
The Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) is a regional interstate economic organization founded in 1985 by the countries of Central Asia and the Middle East. It includes Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Turkey and Uzbekistan. The main areas of cooperation are trade, transport and communications, energy, tourism, agriculture and industry.
In November 2021, Ashgabat hosted the 15th ECO Summit at the level of heads of state.
