John Deere has allowed all farmers of the world to repair their equipment on their own
American agricultural machinery manufacturer Deere Company has signed a memorandum of understanding with the American Association of Farm Bureaus, which allows farmers around the world to repair their equipment independently, Rambler reports.
Previously, John Deere agricultural equipment manufacturers required customers to use their spare parts and service units for repairs and allowed only authorized dealers to have access to sophisticated computerized equipment.
This memorandum, as the president of the association, Zippy Duval, put it, will allow independent mechanics around the world to identify problems and carry out diagnostics.
Recently, the "right to repair" movement has been an urgent topic on the agenda of the largest multinational corporations due to the growth of production costs and the high cost of repairs.
The Turkmen agricultural sector regularly buys agricultural machinery from John Deere. Earlier in 2022, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection signed with John Deere Walldorf GmbH & Co.KG a contract for the supply of a large batch of machinery, equipment and spare parts to the country.
