Turkmenistan adheres to the "one China" policy and the creation of a solid security system
Turkmenistan firmly adheres to the "one China" policy and always clearly formulates its approaches to issues relevant to Chinese partners, including those related to the territorial integrity and unity of the People's Republic of China.
President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov wrote about this in an article for the Chinese newspaper "People's Daily" on the eve of a state visit to China.
The Head of State also noted: "We highly appreciate China's respectful attitude towards Turkmenistan's neutral status and the foreign policy course of our country based on this."
Speaking about cooperation at the regional and global levels, Serdar Berdimuhamedov highlighted the importance of the proximity of the positions of the two countries in Central Asia: both Turkmenistan and China advocate the creation of an even, strong and long-term security system in the region based on a balance of interests and commitment to political and diplomatic methods of solving emerging problems.
