The musical story about the brave Petya, a cheerful bird, a grumpy, but kind grandfather is known and loved in Moscow, London, Paris, Berlin, New York and other cities. The work was written in 1936 by composer Sergei Prokofiev and since then it has been performed in almost all countries of the world.

An amazing fairy tale "settled" in Ashgabat, it was played by different compositions. And five years ago, the State Symphony Orchestra of Turkmenistan, under the direction of conductor Rasul Klychev, presented its musical history to its young listeners. This work was the first in the children's music cycle of the gosorkestra. Later they will add to the fairy-tale series with other fascinating compositions told through music.

In five years, the gosorkestr itself has "grown" professionally – the second "approach" to the fabulous composition will certainly differ from the debut one. Turkmen musicians will present a new version or, as it is now customary to say, a remake of the fairy tale "Peter and the Wolf" on January 15 at the Mukams Palace in the capital. Conductor Rasul Klychev told Orient in an interview about the upcoming concert that the orchestra will give for its young audience.

"The unusual form of this symphonic work - the orchestra and the presenter, makes it possible to introduce children to serious classical music easily and even joyfully. Prokofiev's music, bright, imaginative, tinged with humor, is well perceived by young listeners.

Music about Petya, the bird and the wolf is very popular not only for children, but also for adults. When they listen to this symphonic fairy tale, they recognize all the characters – after all, animals "talk" with the musical voices of the best instruments in the world. For example, a bird — flute, a duck — oboe, a cat — clarinet, a wolf — three French horns.

The shots sound like a big drum. And the grumbling bassoon acts as a grandfather. The boy Petya meets almost the entire symphony orchestra, and the emotions of fairy-tale characters become very clear to children," Rasul Klychev said.

The orchestra's performance will be accompanied by a multimedia series and a display of children's drawings. The concert will also feature Tchaikovsky's "Children's Album", and the artist Vasily Andronov will read the fairy tale.

By the way, in 2008, the short cartoon "Peter and the Wolf", shot by an international team from Poland, Norway and Britain, won an Oscar. The prize of the American Film Academy was awarded to animators for the best animated picture. The authors did without words — just a picture and music performed by the London Symphony Orchestra.

But the first cartoon incarnation of "Petya and the Wolf" took place back in 1946. The legendary Walt Disney filmed a musical fairy tale. The score of the yet-to-be-published work was handed over to the cartoon magnate by the composer himself at a personal meeting. Disney was so impressed with Prokofiev's creation that he decided to draw a story. As a result, the cartoon entered the golden collection of the studio.

The musical fairy tale about Petya and the wolf has been traveling around the planet for almost 90 years, radiating ideas of kindness, joy, light, helping children learn to understand and love music.

In Ashgabat, the fairy tale with orchestra concert program will take place on January 15 at the Mukams Palace in the capital – at 16:00 and 18:00.
