Russia and Turkey have started the practical implementation of the gas hub project

Russia and Turkey have already begun to work on the implementation of the project to create a gas hub in Turkey, Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller said at a pre-New Year's conference call on December 28. He noted that the Russian offshore gas pipelines "Turkish Stream" and "Blue Stream" are now working confidently.
“Now, Turkey and I have started working on a gas hub project in this country. This decision was made at the level of the leaders of the two states, and we have already begun its practical implementation," TASS quoted him as saying.
The gas hub will ensure transparent and fair pricing in the natural gas market, Miller said.
“The global gas market will develop rapidly, and according to the long-term forecast, consumption will grow by 20% in the next 20 years. Therefore, of course, we are thinking about the future, we are thinking about our new projects, we are thinking about energy security,” the head of Gazprom added.
Earlier, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said that decisions on the implementation of the gas hub project in Turkey would be made in 2023. With the idea of creating a hub in Turkey, where the lost volume of transit through the North Stream can be redirected, Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke at the Russian Energy Week forum. According to him, we are talking about the possibility of building another gas pipeline system and creating a hub in Turkey, through which gas will be supplied to third countries, primarily European ones, if they are interested in this.
