Scientists have proved that women are more empathetic than men
A team of international experts from Cambridge, Harvard, Washington Universities, as well as scientists from the University of Bar-Ilan and Haifa proved the advantage of women in cognitive empathy, that is, in the ability to represent and identify other people's thoughts and emotions, according to an article in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS) journal.
Scientists conducted a study in which more than 300 thousand people of different ages from 57 countries of the world took part. Participants were asked to take an online "Eye Mind Reading" test, in which they had to choose which word best describes what the person in the photo thinks or feels, analyzing only the area around the eyes.
The study data showed that women scored much higher on average than men or similarly to men. Experts stressed that there was not a single country in which the results of men were higher than the results of women.
Now scientists have confidently stated that women are more empathetic than men. In future works, it is planned to identify what is the reason for this.
