Russian scientists have discovered a new class of galaxies, substances in which presumably move at a speed exceeding the speed of light by tens to hundreds of times, violating the laws of physics, TASS reports.

The discovery was made by astronomers of Kazan Federal University (KFU) together with scientists from the Institute of Space Research of the Russian Academy of Sciences (ISRRAS).

The proper motions of a new group of galaxies with active nuclei formally indicate that substances in them can move at speeds exceeding the speed of light. This is evidenced by the measurements of the GAIA satellite of the European Space Agency analyzed by Russian scientists.

In total, scientists have found about 500 galaxies with active nuclei that have unusual properties and violate some laws of physics. However, they admit that the data obtained may be inaccurate due to various distortions.
