Competitions for the Turkmenistan Lawn Tennis Cup have ended in Ashgabat. The tournament brought together girls and boys aged 12 and older, who are in leading positions in the national ranking, the country's Tennis Federation told ORIENT.

The competitions formed a team of the strongest players who will represent the country at international tournaments in the future.

The winner of the Cup among boys in singles was Atly Kurbanov, who demonstrated high readiness for the tournament. Yuri Rogussky became the second in the tournament, and Hajymyrat Charyev rose to the third step of the podium.

Ilima Guseynova was the best among the girls. The 12-year-old national champion, who trains under the guidance of the mentor of the national team Mirali Gasanov at the Ashgabat club, will represent Turkmenistan in the Asian Championship (U-14), which will be held in January next year.

The second place in the tournament among girls was taken by Rozhan Karajayeva, and Meryem Muhammedova was in the third position.

In parallel with the competitions for the Turkmenistan Cup, a children's tournament was held in the age category of 10 years and younger, which revealed the most capable among young tennis players. So, the first place among the boys was taken by Aliriza Meredov, the second place by Demid Ugryumov, who snatched victory from Kirill Fedchenko.

The strongest among the girls were Sulgun Ishangulyeva, Sahra Garahanova and Nyazli Hudaigulyeva.
