Serdar Berdimuhamedov went to Russia for an informal CIS summit


President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov left for Russia on Monday to participate in an informal summit of CIS leaders, TDH reports.
It is expected that at the meeting in St. Petersburg, the heads of the CIS countries will discuss key aspects of practical cooperation, as well as issues of an international nature, the state information agency writes.
The leaders of the Commonwealth of Independent States will sum up the main results of the outgoing year and exchange views on priority areas of cooperation, the Kremlin's press service said yesterday.
The informal summit of the leaders of the CIS countries has turned into a traditional annual meeting, which takes place at the end of the outgoing year in the Northern capital of Russia. Within the framework of the summit, bilateral negotiations of the heads of state are also taking place, contributing to the expansion of a multifaceted partnership.
