Mars probe InSight completed mission and "said goodbye" to subscribers

NASA's InSight mission has ended after more than four years of traveling in space and exploring Mars. Over the years, the InSight probe has collected a lot of unique scientific data about the Red Planet, according to the US National Aeronautics and Space Administration.
NASA decided to complete the work after the probe stopped communicating. Scientists made two unsuccessful attempts to contact it and came to the conclusion that its solar batteries no longer generate energy. The last connection with InSight was established on December 15.
"Just in case, the agency will continue to listen to the lander's signal, but at the moment it is unlikely to receive it," the agency noted.
"My strength is very low, so this may be the last image I can send. Don't worry about me: my time here has been productive and serene," the InSight probe said goodbye to its audience on Twitter and shared the last picture of Mars.

NASA's Mars InSight probe was launched in May 2018, and landed on Mars in November. Then it sent the first photo from the surface of the Red Planet, and in December recorded the wind noise.
