The transport and communication complex of Turkmenistan ends the year with a growth rate of 115%


According to the results of the 11 months of 2022, the transport and communication complex of Turkmenistan showed a growth rate of 115.1% in terms of the volume of work performed and services rendered (compared to the same period last year).
The plan for cargo transportation by all modes of transport was fulfilled by 112.2%, passenger transportation – 104.7%. The highest growth rates were recorded in the automotive segment – 129.8%. It is followed by water transport - 109.3%, railways - 105.2%. After the removal of pandemic restrictions, air traffic with other countries, the frequency and geography of regular flights begin to be restored.
Turkmensvyaz has reached the level of 107.7%. The Agency participates in solving key tasks of the development of the digital economy in Turkmenistan.
Mammethan Chakiyev, Director General of the Agency for Transport and Communications under the Cabinet of Ministers, cited such figures in his report at a meeting of the Turkmen government on Friday. He also reported on the progress of construction of a number of industry facilities, including the hangar complex at the Ashgabat International Airport, the airport in Jebel, the railway bridge at the Turkmen-Afghan border crossing Serkhetabat-Turgundi, etc.
