The presentation of the publication "Modern literature of the CIS countries" took place in Tashkent

Short stories and fragments of works in all languages of the former Soviet Union, except Baltic, were included in the anthology "Modern Literature of the CIS countries". The publication includes works by authors written over the past 30 years. The presentation of the book took place on Friday in Tashkent, Uzbek media reported.
Each national section opens with an essay telling about the work of a prose writer of a particular Commonwealth country. The selection of authors and works was carried out by the chief editors - native speakers. Each publisher was provided with a volume of six author's sheets – this is 150 standard book pages. They distributed this volume at their discretion, - said the responsible editor of the book Maxim Amelin.
The huge folio is only the first stage of the publishing project. Two similar anthologies - poetry and children's literature of the CIS countries - are still to be released. Later, two other anthologies "Modern Russian Literature: Poetry and Prose" will be published, in which the works of over thirty poets and almost fifty prose writers of the Commonwealth states will be presented. Moreover, each book will be published in all eleven CIS countries and in its own national language.
Now work is underway to digitalize a new paper volume, which, in turn, will "go" to the libraries of the Commonwealth countries, Maxim Amelin said.
