Algeria may join BRICS in 2023

Algerian President Abdelmajid Tebbun expressed hope that the country will join the BRICS next year, Lenta.ru reports.
The head of the African state noted that Russia, China and Brazil have already supported joining after submitting an application on November 7. "God willing, 2023 will be the year when Algeria joins the BRICS," Tebbun said.
BRICS is an international association that includes the largest developing economies in the world – Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. These countries have the world's largest reserves of raw materials, which are critically needed for the global economy.
Earlier, Argentina, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Iran and Turkey expressed their desire to join the organization.
