The UNFPA expert mission assessed the conduct of the population census in Turkmenistan


The UNFPA high-level expert mission positively assessed the preparation and conduct of a continuous population and housing census in Turkmenistan in 2022, the Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper writes following the results of the experts' briefing for the media.
According to the head of the group, Head of the Demographic Statistics Department of the UN Statistical Office Srdjan Mrkic, the work on data collection is organized and according to plan. The mission visited three urban and rural census sites, where it got acquainted with the technical details and methods of conducting the census.
The Mission highlighted the digital format of the census using modern equipment and software, which should ensure high quality and reliability of the final data.
Also during the visit, experts conducted a training for journalists on covering the population and housing census.
