The tenth summit of the Turkic countries will be held in Kazakhstan in 2023


The tenth anniversary summit of the Organization of Turkic States (OTG) will be held in Kazakhstan in 2023, the press service of the country's president Kassym-Jomart Tokayev reports.
The press release also reports that Tokayev received the General Secretary of OTG Kubanychbek Omuraliev on Tuesday and congratulated him on his appointment to this position.
According to Tokayev, today the role and importance of OTG as a unique platform for strengthening cooperation and unity of the Turkic peoples has increased significantly. The Head of Kazakhstan stressed that many states and international organizations express their intention to expand trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian ties with the organization.
The Cooperation Council of Turkic-speaking States (Turkic Council), established in 2009, decided to change its name to the Organization of Turkic States at the Istanbul summit in November 2021. The organization includes Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey and Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Hungary participate as observers.
The previous summit was held in November this year in Samarkand.
