– The International Center for Industrial Cooperation should give a serious impetus to the deepening of partnership between our states. The center will become the largest commercial and industrial hub in Central Asia, as well as expand the transport and logistics capabilities of our countries, the President of Kazakhstan said at a joint briefing following the talks, according to the Akorda website.

Tokayev is on a state visit to Uzbekistan on December 21-22. During the meeting, the parties also discussed the development of trade and transport corridors in the region.

– We agreed to jointly develop the Trans-Caspian international transport route, - the President of Kazakhstan said.

During the talks, prospects for cooperation in the energy sector, in particular, in the supply, transit and processing of hydrocarbons, were also considered.

The leaders of the two countries agreed to continue coordinated work on the rational use of the resources of the transboundary rivers of Central Asia. The necessity of taking joint measures for the speedy solution of existing problems in this direction was emphasized.

Also during the visit, trade contracts and investment agreements worth $8 billion were signed.
