Annual results of Turkmenistan-UN cooperation in the field of sustainable development have been summed up


The next meeting of the Joint Steering Committee on the implementation of the Framework Program of Cooperation between Turkmenistan and the United Nations in the field of sustainable Development for 2021-2025 was held in a hybrid format in the building of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan on Thursday.
The meeting was attended by heads and employees of the Foreign Ministry, representatives of a number of ministries and departments of the country, heads of UN structural units in Ashgabat.
The meeting discussed the main results in the implementation of the Framework Program of Cooperation in 2022, including its five target groups: the rule of law, economy, ecology, health and education, the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reports.
Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov focused on cooperation in the development of the "green" economy, in the areas of food security and climate change, digitalization and education, with an emphasis on schooling and professional training, strengthening the health capacity.
He also mentioned the development of human rights institutions in Turkmenistan, in particular, the formation of the institution of specialized commissioners in the system of human rights protection, among the topical issues of cooperation.
In this context, the Minister called on national partners, together with relevant UN agencies, to intensify work in the designated areas and prepare a Roadmap for the Cooperation Framework for 2023.
