Two potentially habitable planets have been found near the Solar System

Two potentially habitable planets with the mass of Earth near the Solar system were discovered by an international team of scientists led by researchers from the Institute of Astrophysics of the Canary Islands (IAC), reports Lenta.ru with reference to the journal Astronomy & Astrophysics.
The planets GJ 1002b and GJ 1002 revolve around a red dwarf, mass of which is about one-eighth of the Sun. GJ 1002b and GJ 1002 are close enough to the sun, which indicates a suitable atmosphere and the presence of other characteristics for life. Also, both planets meet all the necessary parameters to include them in the LIFE mission program to search for extraterrestrial life.
The system is located at a distance of at least 16 light-years from the Solar System. The planet GJ 1002b takes just over 10 days to complete its orbital cycle, and GJ 1002 takes about 21 days.
The observations were carried out using two instruments — ESPRESSO and CARMENES, which recorded data in the period from 2017 to 2021.
