The young vocalist Rustem Khallyev became the winner of the "Shining Star of the Year" contest
The winner of the song contest, the young Turkmen singer Rustem Khallyev, won the Grand Prix and the title “Shining Star of the Year – 2022”. On the way to victory, he went through a multi-stage qualifying round and, having ascended the podium, received a challenge cup, which was presented to him by last year's finalist of the prestigious competition Begench Charyev.
Rustem has vocal data from his father, the famous Turkmen singer Ravshan Khallyev, who is the author of the popular song “Sound, my Fatherland!”. He grew up in a musical environment from childhood, so his decision to become a singer did not surprise anyone.
In 2015, the debut participation in the competition of young performers “Sound, my Fatherland!” brought Rustem a prize-winning place. And in last year's "Shining Star of the Year" competition, he took first place, literally just a little short of the coveted title.
- I am very glad that I became the winner of the competition and I experience amazing feelings and emotions. I would like to advise beginner singers - listen carefully to the songs of our old and talented masters of folk music, you can learn a lot from them. And I would like our musicians to turn to the origins more often and perform Turkmen folk songs, - Rustem Khallyev shared his joyful emotions.
It should be noted that the 10 best performers reached the final of the song competition, for whom TV viewers and radio listeners voted. These rules have been in force since the beginning of the competition, which has been held in the country since 2009. The organizers are the Central Council of the Magtymguly Youth Organization, Ministry of Culture and State Committee of Turkmenistan for Television, Radio Broadcasting and Cinematography.
