CIS intends to create a single digital healthcare space

The bill necessary for this was developed by scientists of the Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University and presented at a meeting of the Permanent Commission of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly on Social Policy and Human Rights.
The document will help to bring the national legislation of the Commonwealth countries in the field of healthcare to a single format, thereby forming a unified digital space between them.
Working in a common digital field will allow the Commonwealth countries to create unified platforms for the collection and storage of biomedical data, conduct breakthrough scientific research, and improve the qualifications of medical staff, commented Georgy Lebedev, Director of the Institute of Digital Medicine at Sechenov University.
The Model Law will unite the healthcare systems of the participating states with modern standards of interaction that will be valid both at the domestic and international levels. It will regulate relations in such areas as electronic document management, telemedicine and the use of artificial intelligence methods.
