Hungary will join the number of consumers of Azerbaijani electricity

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban plans to sign an agreement on joining the network of consumers of Azerbaijani electricity on December 17 in Bucharest, Romania, reports About Hungary.
Deliveries will be carried out through the territory of Georgia and Romania, which can potentially use the network both for electricity consumption and for its filling. The branch itself will be laid along the bottom of the Black Sea.
According to Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Peter Szijjarto, the country will join the project against the background of the energy crisis and at the same time receive the necessary funding from the European Union.
The creation of a new energy branch from Azerbaijan to Europe is in line with plans to diversify energy supplies to the European market, and also opens an additional window of opportunity to join the multi-vector Azerbaijani infrastructure for alternative suppliers, the most likely of which is Turkmenistan.
Hungary has close relations with the Turkic world — along with Turkmenistan, the country is an observer in the Organization of Turkic States.
