The energy ministries of Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan and Turkey signed a memorandum of understanding

The Turkmengaz State Concern , the Ministry of Energy of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources of Turkey signed a memorandum of understanding, TDH reports.
The document was adopted following the results of the first summit of the leaders of Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan and Turkey in Avaza. The signing of the memorandum will be important for further diversification of supplies of Turkmen natural gas in the European direction, as previously experts wrote in the specialized publications.
On the eve of the visit to Turkmenistan, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced that he hopes for the establishment of supplies of Turkmen gas to Turkey through the Caspian Sea.
It is noteworthy that the signing of the memorandum between the energy departments of the three countries took place on December 14 — the Day of Workers of the Oil and Gas Industry and Geology of Turkmenistan. Date of the professional holiday was also chosen for a reason. It was on this day in 2009 that one of the world's longest gas pipelines, Turkmenistan—China, was put into operation.
